I’ve always been the “workout person.”

I was the one who knew my way around the gym, who could talk training, who believed in staying active and taking care of my body. Fitness has been part of my life for as long as I can remember—not some midlife bandwagon I jumped on.

But even with all that experience, something shifted as I got older.

Work got more demanding. Stress got heavier. Recovery got slower. My joints started sending louder messages. I wasn’t out of shape, but I could feel that my old approach—pushing hard, grinding through, assuming I’d bounce back—wasn’t built for the long haul of real adult life.
